The periodic table
All 118 elements with their measured values. The table can be recoloured — by category, by state at ordinary conditions, by block, or by electronegativity — and searched by symbol or by name.
Each element has its own page, where the properties of the atom are kept separate from those of the simple substance, and temperatures are given in both kelvin and degrees Celsius.
Structural formula editor
The editor is built on JSME: draw a molecule with the mouse and get its structural formula. It handles reactions too, and exports the result as an image to paste into notes or a problem sheet.
It earns its place when a formula has to be shown rather than typed: structure matters more than spelling, and you cannot explain a ring in words.
Molar mass calculator
Molar mass from a formula: type `Ca₃(PO₄)₂` or `CuSO₄·5H₂O` and get the mass, the contribution of each element and the mass fractions. It runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
Solution calculator
Dilution and weighing: C₁V₁ = C₂V₂, with how much solvent to add, and the mass to weigh out for a solution of a given concentration, worked straight from the formula.
Unit converter
Converting units: mass, volume, pressure, energy, temperature and the rest. Shows the value in every unit of the group at once.
Planned
A unit converter — the things everyone works out by hand ten times a week. If there is a tool you need and it is not here, write to us: the queue is ordered by what people actually ask for.
